Let's talk

about.md

Six years of shipping, for teams everywhere.

I'm Samuel, a senior frontend engineer based in Lagos. For more than six years I've built the web products people use inside fintech, health tech and AI companies, from the dashboards that run a payments back office to the tools that help people teach AI their own languages.

My specialty is React, Next.js and TypeScript, and the architecture around them: microfrontends, monorepos, design systems and build pipelines. I also work on the backend with Node.js, so I can follow a feature from the screen to the server.

Along the way I've led frontend teams, set code-quality standards, and shipped products used by merchants, healthcare providers and the teams building AI. Most of my work has been with distributed teams across Nigeria and Canada.

I'm open to contracts, consulting, gigs, collaborations and partnerships, including AI integration work.

in plain English: I build the screens people use, and the systems behind them, for companies that need them to work.

how I ship

pipeline.yml — a typical delivery pipeline

pipeline.yml
name: ship
on: [push]
jobs:
  verify:
steps: [lint, typecheck, "unit tests (Jest / Vitest)"]
  e2e:
    needs: verify
steps: ["Playwright on a preview deploy"]
  build:
    needs: e2e
steps: ["production build", "Docker image (when needed)"]
  deploy:
    needs: build
    steps: [release, "smoke check"]

in plain English: every change is checked automatically before it reaches your users, so releases are calm instead of risky.

working worldwide

I've shipped with remote teams in Nigeria and Canada, including a healthcare platform for MAP Systems in Winnipeg. Lagos sits on UTC+1 all year, so the day lines up closely with the UK and Europe and leaves a solid window with North America.

I work in the open: clear written updates, small pull requests and demos you can click, so a time difference never slows you down.

Overlap assumes a 9–5 day in both places. Need more? Tell me and we'll agree hours that work for your team.
