the challenge
A state that wants to register all its residents needs people to understand why, trust the process and know exactly what to do next. The agency needed a clear public front door: why to register, how it works, where to go and where to get help, with the privacy of personal data made visible.
what it does
A clear three-step journey
Pre-register online, visit a registration centre for biometrics, then receive your resident card, with a reminder to validate the details that will be printed on it.
Self-registration portal
Residents start registering online by signing in with their National Identity Number (NIN) and a password, before they visit a registration centre for biometrics.
Retrieve your ID, find a centre
Dedicated pages to retrieve your SSID and to find a registration centre near you.
Why register
The benefits explained in plain language: better social services, infrastructure, poverty alleviation and resource allocation.
Answers up front
FAQs (including which documents you need), news and updates, and an About page with the agency's leadership.
Numbers that build trust
A section showing the state's population, registered residents, registration centres and field agents.
Privacy made visible
A data-privacy notice (NDPR) sits at the top of the home page, before anyone is asked for anything.
what I did
- Owned the frontend end to end, from the first page to the last.
- Built it with React and Vite.
- Built the public website: the home page and its three-step guide, the ID retrieval and registration-centre pages, the FAQs, the news section and the About page.
- Built the self-registration portal that residents use to start registering online.
impact
- Helps the state government build a database of its residents, supporting planning and public services.
- The agency's official public website, live at kwasrra.ng, and a self-registration portal that lets residents start registering online.
- Part of one story with Proximaforte: its data-management product supports the registration programme, and I built the frontends on both sides.
